The Tuareg are North & West African Berber people typically inhabiting the Sahara Desert including Algeria, Mali, Libya, Niger and Burkina Faso and as far south as Northern Nigeria. Of these Berbers, the greatest majority live in Niger. They are traditionally nomadic pastoralists and are skilled craftsmen, producing exquisite jewelry.

The Tuareg traded in luxury items and as skilled craftsmen, their beautiful creations were introduced to the rest of the world. Today, these Berber people make beautiful jewelry with silver alloys, consisting of silver and other metals such as copper, brass and bronze.
