Oshun Cowry Shell Choker. In Yoruba tradition, Oshun is a Goddess or principle associated with love, sensuality, an abundance of prosperity, fertility, beauty and more feminine arts. She is also connected to fresh water, which of course represents life and the Feminine Principle.

Cowrie shells were traditionally used in African trade as currency or barter and today still hold a special place in culture and spirituality. They also represent fertility and are used as a protection against the evil eye. As an ancient form of currency, they were used on almost every continent. Native to the Indian and Pacific oceans, they are most popularly known for their use across West Africa.

The cowry shells on this bracelet are separated by knots, attractively placed on a black cord. These bracelets pair well with our cowry shell earrings and bracelets. Get one or a few! Adjustable.

Made in Ghana.
