The Tuareg are North & West African Berber people typically inhabiting the Sahara Desert including Algeria, Morocco, Mali, Libya, Niger and Burkina Faso and as far south as Northern Nigeria. Of the Tuareg people, the greatest majority live in Niger. They are traditionally nomadic pastoralists and are skilled craftsmen, producing exquisite jewelry.

The Tuareg traded in luxury items and as skilled craftsmen, their beautiful creations were introduced to the rest of the world. Today, these Berbers make beautiful jewelry with silver alloys, consisting of silver and other metals such as copper, brass and bronze.
